Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing

Marketing is a broad, dynamic and exciting field. Marketing is a management orientation that focuses on customer satisfaction and it is a set of activities used to implement this focus. The American Marketing Association definition is "Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large."

The Area of Marketing offer top notch faculty who have been recognized for teaching excellence who also publish in the areas they teach. We offer an experiential approach that will leave students well prepared for the challenges they will face in the business world. Our graduates are highly successful in top firms in the United States and abroad. The major is designed to offer a solid understanding of marketing with cutting edge ideas and practices. We prepare students for their first position in marketing and provide the foundation needed to advance.

Marketing majors must complete 24 hours of Marketing classes along with 24 hours of additional business courses. To enhance the classroom experience, the Marketing Area encourages its students to complete an approved internship for academic credit. For more information about internships, contact Dr. Dale Duhan.

Marketing students form the core of the Tech Marketing Association. The TMA has received several awards and is open to all students, regardless of major. The organization hosts formal presentations from companies including Black & Decker, Cintas, E.J. Gallo, and Ferguson Enterprise. Informal sessions allow TMA members to network with other members and company representatives. TMA also hosts dinners where companies make presentations. Additionally, TMA sponsors resume workshops, golf tournaments, and teams that compete in TTU's intramural leagues. For more information about TMA, contact Dr. Tillmann Wagner.
